One of the most commonly asked questions, yet most misunderstood concepts of exercise is how to get a flat stomach/abdomen. Whether it’s shedding some excess weight off one’s midsection or trying to obtain the Holy Grail of fitness (the vaunted six pack), people spend countless hours in the gym trying to perfect this one area more than any other. What makes it so difficult to achieve is not a lack of effort as it is a lack of understanding.
Are your quads struggling to get in those skinny jeans or are your calves too tight for tall boots? This is a common complaint I hear from my female clients all too often and I can relate. In early 2016 I switched my workouts to prepare for a 3 day 300 mile bike ride for Make-A-Wish. In doing so I noticed a shift in my body and mostly my legs.
Don't let traveling get you off your fitness routine. It is easy to skip workouts while traveling but your body will thank you later if you find just 30 minutes to fit a short jog or a few push ups in. I use trips as an excuse to scout the competition and see what other cities are offering in the fitness industry.
I am raising money for Make A Wish Foundation by biking 300 miles over 3 days. Many of you probably think this will be easy for me but I beg to differ. The studio is only 5 miles one way so biking 100 miles a day is going to be a big challenge, but there are children suffering every day with diseases and it is for these children that I choose to ride.

Winter is officially here and unless we force ourselves to get outside and engage in physical activity we will be stuck inside on the treadmill until May! A great way to get outside and also preparing for bathing season is to strap on a pair of snowshoes and go for a hike (I am writing this while sitting in a lounge chair sunning myself in Miami)!
