It’s that time of year again, let the resolutions begin! I have this “friend”, we’ll call her “Risa”, who’s strong desire to resolve her Starbucks Extra Hot Soy Cappuccino addiction began AND ended on January 1st. Truth.
Enough about me – I mean “Risa”. Let's focus on YOU. The first of the year is a great time to evaluate your current fitness routines and determine if what you are practicing is helping you reach your goals? While we're at it, we might as well review those goals and (stay with me here) make some new ones! Pro tip: I am a firm believer in setting goals and reassessing often in order to keep on track (except when it involves Starbucks).
Often times we get caught up in the act of making resolutions that are not realistic or goal driven. It is important to first determine your goal, then work backwards to come up with a plan for achieving it. Is your goal to lose weight? There are multiple factors that might derail your efforts and slow your progress ::insert molten lava cake:: Let's start small and make simple changes together. If you change too much, you won't know what worked and you risk missing out on the reward of feeling fulfilled by reaching your goal.
Here's to a successful 2015!
